The Doctors at North House.
Due to the unprecedented Coronavirus public health emergency, North House Surgery, like all the other local surgeries, have withdrawn routine face to face appointments. Please do not put yourselves, other patients and staff at risk by attending the surgery unless you have been explicitly advised to do so by one of our clinical team. DO NOT WALK INTO THE SURGERY as you will not be seen. Please follow the link below for current Public Health advice and if in doubt, call 111.
Our priority is looking after our community and trying to prevent a massive spread of this disease. Please be kind and considerate of each other and out team. We are trying our hardest to continue to provide a service.
Vaccine Registry Website
NHS researchers in the UK are working together to help find a vaccine against COVID-19.
Many possible COVID-19 vaccines are being tested in the UK. Different vaccines may work better for different groups of people. It's important we include people from all backgrounds and ages in our research. This gives researchers an understanding of how well each vaccine may work. All COVID-19 vaccines being researched in the NHS have gone through strict safety testing, and have been approved by a number of processes. We use the same high standards to COVID research as we do to all NHS research. We are still looking for volunteers for studies in the North East and North Cumbria to find a vaccine against COVID-19. To sign up and for more information visit www.nhs.uk/researchcontact
FLU VACCINES FOR 50-64 YEAR OLDS.
Please note that people in the 50-64-year old age group will not be vaccinated until November and December, providing there is sufficient vaccine, and no appointments will be offered for this age group until then. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.
If patients are 50-64 and are in one of the other groups which are eligible for the flu vaccination, for example have a health condition which puts them at risk from the flu, they will be invited earlier by the practice via text message.
We here at North House Surgery pride ourselves on the holistic and caring service that we are able to provide for our local community.
The doctors work in a partnership caring for over 13500 patients. We currently have 5 Partners, 2 Salaried GPs, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, 3 Nurses and 3 Healthcare Assistants. We also have a dedicated team of administrative staff.
We are proud to be a training practice for both GP Registrars and Medical Students from Newcastle University.
Within the practice you will be able to access physiotherapy, contraception services, minor surgery and several clinics including heart disease, smoking cessation, asthma and diabetes. We also provide travel & childhood immunisations.
As well as a useful source of information about our practice, the staff and the services we provide, we hope you will use this website as a resource for other health-related problems.
Please have a look around and feel free to send us your feedback. We are keen to use your ideas to further develop our online services.
Did you know you can use the Minor Aliment Scheme offered in local pharmacies. Under the Scheme, if you are eligible for free NHS prescriptions, then you can access a range of medications free of charge without seeing a Doctor.
